ROOM-SCALE MULTIUSER VIRTUAL REALITY TRAINING GRID

The FusionBloc roomscale virtual reality training grid uses a combination of small tracking devices and infrared sensors to seamlessly capture a user’s movement. These small devices are attached to headsets, arms, hands, or any physical objects that needs to be tracked and replicated in the virtual reality mine. 
 
Once trainees have put on the necessary virtual reality equipment and stepped into the VR training grid, the motion tracking sensors are used to capture, record and replicate users’ movements; allowing them to see and interact with each other and the virtual reality mine. Once all trainees are in position, instructors are able to select the relevant training course and watch as each trainee navigates there way through the practical assessment. 

UNLIMITED USERS

The dynamic nature of the FusionBloc virtual reality training grid allows your organisation to train an unlimited number of users. As a result, multiple teams and individuals can complete various training courses simultaneously.

Advanced Technology

Cutting edge virtual reality backpacks and headsets allow trainees to seamlessly walk around the training grid without tripping over wires. Innovative hand controllers mean that trainees no longer have to carry big bulky remotes to interact with the virtual environment. This creates a natural way of training.

Modular Design

The FusionBloc tracking grid is completely wireless and has a max tracking area of 10,000 m2. This modular design allows your organisation to scale the VR mining system according to your specific requirements. Being highly affordable FusionBloc can be scaled between different sites.

3D Scanned Mines

Using a series of handheld, depth-sensing cameras, your surveyors can seamlessly 3D map your physical mining environment. Once scanned, this raw 3D data is uploaded to our system to undergo a complex remodelling and optimisation process to prepare them for use in the virtual reality training systems. 3D mapping your actual mine, allows our team to build an exact digital replica. This Digital Twin forms the basis for both prebuilt and scenario-based training courses.

Simulator Integration

The team collaboration mode is designed to seamlessly interact with the FusionSim vehicle simulators, discussed below. When instructors select the team collaboration mode, the trainees will be able to see and interact with the people who are currently training in the FusionSim virtual reality vehicle simulators. The integration of people and vehicles into the same virtual reality mining environment allows trainees to become accustomed to working with each other. This team-based training platform not only increase collaboration and encourages communication but reduces the risk of accidents and death that occur on the job.

DYNAMIC VIRTUAL REALITY MINING VEHICLE SIMULATORS

Our FusionSim virtual reality vehicle simulators have been purposely designed to provide trainee operators with comprehensive training, in a safe and controlled virtual mining environment. By enabling trainees to become familiar with the vehicles they are operating, the working conditions they are operating in, and the various hazards that occur on the mine site, our mining vehicle simulators ofter a safe place to practise, reducing the frequency of accidents and death.

VEHICLE PLATFORM

Dynamic motion platforms, high-tech computers and virtual reality headsets form the basis of our FusionSim vehicle simulators. 
 
Once trainees put on the virtual reality headsets, they are fully immersed in the virtual reality world and no longer have a view of the world around them. This complete immersion, combined with 360 spacial audio and vibrations of the motion platform makes trainees believe they are driving an actual mining vehicle and not a simulator.
 
The various mining vehicle cabs are all compatible with the same motion platform and can be seamlessly interchanged.  The system automatically detects which cab has been attached and loads the correct software. 

INSTRUCTOR CONTROL CENTRE

A high-tech computer coupled with two monitors makes up the basis of the instructor control centre.
 
The first screen automatically loads the main instructor dashboard. Once the instructor enters the trainee’s unique details, they will be able to access their past training history.
 
Based on the individual’s specific requirements, the instructor has the ability to select the relevant course and control the various elements that makes up the training session. 
 
Once the training session has begun, the second monitor will provide the instructor with several camera views of whats the trainee is doing in the virtual reality mining simulation. 

VEHICLE SIMULATOR TRAINING MODES

PRACTISE MODE

Once an instructor has selected the relevant training course, trainees are required to perform the various tasks based on their existing knowledge and experience. If tasks are performed incorrectly, the instructor is provided with real-time feedback and can address errors immediately. ​ To test how trainee’s respond to certain situations and scenarios, instructors have the ability to introduce multiple variables into the simulation.

ASSESSMENT MODE

Assessments form an integral part of the training process as they determine if the trainee has the ability to recall the required information as and when necessary. Instructors will be able to conduct and monitor numerous assessments that are designed to test the trainee’s abilities to perform specific tasks and functions. Instructors can view an event log of students’ faults as they occur. Assessment results are automatically recorded and logged onto the each trainees personal performance dashboard.

TEAM COLLABORATION MODE

The team collaboration mode is designed to seamlessly interact with the FusionSim vehicle simulators, discussed below. When instructors select the team collaboration mode, the trainees will be able to see and interact with the people who are currently training in the FusionSim virtual reality vehicle simulators. The integration of people and vehicles into the same virtual reality mining environment allows trainees to become accustomed to working with each other.
